Document Ingestion & GDS Parsing

How Ghloria turns supplier files, Galileo GDS itineraries, emails, and PDFs into verified proposal data with side-by-side review.

Ghloria uses smart document ingestion to eliminate manual data entry when travel agencies receive booking confirmations, DMC quotes, airline GDS itineraries, PDFs, or spreadsheets. The ingestion engine reads unstructured travel content, maps it to structured proposal services, and provides a clear review workflow before and after merging into your proposal.

Operational control first

AI accelerates the extraction, but travel operators retain complete verification control. Ghloria surfaces itemized counts, currency conversion controls, green provenance dots in the editor, and a side-by-side comparison pane with the original file.

Supported Input Formats

The proposal import dialog supports a wide range of industry formats:

  • Travelport / Galileo GDS: Direct upload or copy-paste of Galileo PNR itineraries. The parser automatically structures flight options, segments, legs, departure/arrival times, cabin classes, airline codes, and fares without manual retyping.
  • Documents & Spreadsheets: .xlsx, .xls, .docx, .doc, .pdf.
  • Presentations & Web Pages: .pptx, .ppt, .html.
  • Email Messages: Native .eml and .msg files, or pasted email body text.

The Import Processing Workflow

Upload or Paste Source Material

From any proposal, click Import. Drag and drop supplier files, paste raw Galileo itinerary text, or paste email confirmations. Select the proposal output language.

Background Parsing & Normalization

Ghloria processes the document in the background, mapping recognized sections to flights, accommodations, itinerary days, cruise legs, optional tours, and pricing snapshots.

Redesigned Import Review Screen

Before anything enters your proposal, a structured review modal presents the extracted data:

  • Itemized Counters: Clear summary showing exactly what was extracted ("2 Flight(s)", "1 Hotel(s)", "12 Itinerary day(s)").
  • Date Adjustment: Review and adjust detected trip dates directly.
  • Currency Detection & Conversion: When a foreign currency is detected (e.g., USD, GBP, JPY), the modal displays the currency and lets you configure the exchange rate before importing.

Quality Feedback & Confirmation

Validate extracted fields using thumbs up or thumbs down. Feedback trains the system continuously without blocking the import. Once confirmed, Ghloria merges the data into the proposal.

In-Editor Provenance & Side-by-Side Verification

After confirming an import, Ghloria ensures you always know which values came from external documents:

Green Provenance Markers

  • Fields populated by an imported document are marked with a subtle green dot indicator.
  • Hovering or clicking into the field container settles the marker, giving you a live audit trail of what was imported versus manually entered.

Side-by-Side Review Pane

  • Each imported service displays a document badge. Clicking the badge or clicking the Document button in the top navigation opens the Side-by-Side Review Pane on the right side of the screen.
  • You can inspect the original supplier PDF, voucher, or GDS printout side-by-side with your editable proposal fields to verify names, dates, booking codes, and cancellation policies.

Permanent Document Archival

  • Uploaded files remain permanently archived within the proposal's document repository.
  • Team members and managers can inspect original supplier confirmations at any point during trip operations or post-travel reconciliation.

When to Use Document Ingestion

  • Galileo GDS Flight Itineraries: Instantly structure multi-leg flights and ticketed fares directly from terminal copy-pastes.
  • DMC & Wholesaler Quotations: Import multi-day tour proposals, hotel lists, and activity packages from supplier PDFs or Excel sheets.
  • Supplier Confirmation Emails: Turn hotel confirmation emails and transport vouchers into verified proposal services with one click.
  • Multi-Document Consolidation: Import multiple supplier quotes into the same proposal while maintaining separate source tracking for each service.
